- Back to information about the band
CUBB is open to everybody, and there are no auditions! We do, however, ask that you be willing to play a brass band instrument (soprano cornet, cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone, euphonium, trombone, bass trombone or basses i.e. tubas). This may mean, for example, playing cornet instead of trumpet (though trumpeters are definitely just as welcome), tenor horn instead of french horn or baritone instead of possessing dignity. We have many instruments to lend, and do so for free. Percussionists are always welcome; the band owns a variety of tuned and untuned percussion.
If you are interested in joining us, you can contact our musical director for details or just turn up to a rehearsal. We rehearse every Thursday evening of Full Term, from 8 to 10pm in the Lee Hall at Wolfson College (Cambridge map). It's best to use the Selwyn Gardens entrance to the college.
If you live a long way from Wolfson College or have a heavy instrument to carry, a lift can be organised for you - contact the chairperson if this would be of help to you.
Feel free to get in touch with a member of the committee if you have any questions - see their page for contact details.
